Laia Subirats, researcher of health informatics group in Barcelona Digital Technology Centre, holds a Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Pompeu Fabra University and a MSc. in Telematics Engineering by Technical University of Catalonia and Carlos III University of Madrid.

 

Since 2006, she has been working in some R&D projects in disciplines such as social networks, usability of interfaces, web services, semantic web, knowledge representation, smart cities, open source and e-learning; both in national and international centres (Telefonica R&D and European Organization of Nuclear Research in Geneva, Switzerland). She is currently interested in clinical decision support systems in rehabilitation.

Yod Samuel Martín

"Guidelines for Accessibility to Microblogging: an Integral Approach"

Yod Samuel Martín García.

Yod Samuel Martín is a researcher in the Department of Telematics Engineering (DIT) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) since 2004. He has an M.Sc. and an M.Phil. in Telecommunications Engineering, both from UPM, and holds several postgraduate degrees on the specific topic of web accessibility. Also regarding this topic, he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. thesis, targeting in particular the evaluation of accessibility in the presence of new service and content paradigms (Web 2.0, Rich Internet Applications, User Generated Contents, Device Independence, etc.)
 
His research is currently focused on the assurance of non-functional requirements (accessibility, usability, trust, privacy) for the Social Web. He has authored twenty papers on different topics in the field of Information Society, several of them related to accessibility on different forums (including past editions of DRT4ALL), for which he has been credited with recognitions such as the John M. Slatin Award in 2009.
